SBI Card launches SimplySAVE Credit Card on RuPay Platform

SBI Card has launched one of its most popular offerings, SBI SimplySAVE Credit Card on India’s homegrown RuPay payment network. Until now the SimplySAVE Card was available only in Visa and MasterCard variants. Apart from the SimplySAVE Credit Card, SBI Card also launched FBB SBI StyleUp Card on the Rupay platform.

SBI SimplySAVE Credit Card is the sixth credit card by SBI Card to be launched on the RuPay platform after IRCTC SBI Credit Card, BPCL SBI Credit Card, FBB SBI StyleUp Credit Card, Shaurya SBI Credit Card and Shaurya Select SBI Credit Card. All three variants of SBI SimplySAVE Credit Card offer the same features and benefits and come with the same annual fee.

SBI SimplySAVE Credit Card Key Features

SBI SimplySAVE Credit Card is the ideal credit card for making household purchases as you get 10x Reward Points on groceries and departmental store spends. The card comes with an annual fee of Rs. 499 (plus GST) which is waived off if a minimum of Rs. 1 lac were spent in the preceding year. Some of the key features of SBI SimplySAVE Credit Card are as under-

• 2,000 Bonus Reward Points as a welcome benefit on spending a minimum of Rs. 2,000 within 60 days of card issuance.
• 10 Reward Points per Rs. 100 (10 RPs per Rs. 150 w.e.f. 1st March 2022) on dining, movies, departmental stores and grocery categories.
• 1 Reward Point per Rs. 100 (1 RP per Rs. 150 w.e.f. 1st March 2022) on all other categories of spends.

Bottom Line

After RBI banned MasterCard from onboarding new customers in July last year, all major card issuers in the country started tying up with Visa and/or RuPay to issue new credit cards. There has been significant growth in RuPay’s credit card market share after the RBI imposed ban. Yes Bank and Bank of Baroda also launched credit cards on the RuPay platform a couple of months ago.
