HDFC Credit Card Dineout Offer Updated – Up to 15% off on Dining Bill Payments, No Dineout Passport Membership

Earlier this year, HDFC Bank came up with new benefits of the Dineout dining discount offer (complimentary Dineout Passport membership + Dineout Pay offer) that the bank offers to its credit cardholders. Starting January 2022, HDFC credit cardholders were entitled to get an additional discount of up to 15% on dining bills paid with the Dineout app, while the complimentary Dineout Passport membership shall be discontinued on all HDFC Credit Cards except the Infinia/Infinia Metal Edition Card.

But starting this May, HDFC Bank has added upper limits on discount capping while paying your dining bills using HDFC Bank Credit Cards. It also added a minimum billing amount to avail the benefits of this offer. With the changes that HDFC Bank has made in this offer, the cardholders will now get a discount of 15% on their dining bills amounting to a minimum of Rs. 1,500 via Dineout Pay.

HDFC Bank Credit Cards Dineout Passport Membership

HDFC Bank used to provide a complimentary membership of the Dineout Passport dining program with many of their credit cards including HDFC Infinia Credit Card, HDFC Diners Club Black Credit Card, HDFC Regalia Credit Card, and HDFC Millennia Credit Card. The bank had discontinued this benefit w.e.f. 1st January 2022, with the exception of HDFC Infinia/Infinia Metal Edition Credit Card, which will continue to offer a 1-year complimentary Dineout membership.

HDFC Credit Cards Dineout Pay Offer

Apart from the complimentary Dineout Passport membership (which has now been discontinued starting January 2022 with the exception of the Infinia Credit Card), the HDFC Bank Credit Cardholders will now get up to 15% discount on bills of Rs. 1,500 and above on making payments via the Dineout Pay app using HDFC Bank Credit Card. Also, the bank has set an upper limit on the discount portion per month The Dineout Pay discount is applicable on the various HDFC Credit Cards as per the table below-

All HDFC cardholders are subject to a maximum amount of discount that they can earn via Dineout Pay. Earlier where there was no capping on discount earned by HDFC Infinia Credit Cardholders, has now been capped to a maximum discount of Rs. 1,000 per month. Similarly, HDFC Diners Club Black Credit Card, InterMiles Diners Club Credit Card, Corporate Premium Credit Card, and SAP Concur Black Credit Cardholders can now avail a maximum discount of Rs. 500 per month. A maximum discount of Rs. 300 per month can be availed by all other HDFC Credit cardholders. This offer is valid till 30th November 2022.

To avail of the discount applicable on your HDFC credit card under the Dineout Pay Offer, all you need to do is make the payment at one of the partner restaurants via the DineoutPay app using your HDFC credit card.

The complimentary Dineout Passport Membership can be activated through the Dineout app- the benefit is applicable on HDFC Infinia/Infinia Metal Edition Credit Cards only.

Bottom Line

It is interesting to note that while the benefit on most premium credit cards has been downgraded, entry-level credit cards like Moneyback Plus, EasyEMI and Regalia First are now offering a better discount rate under the Dineout Pay offer. Unlike most other credit card offers, this dining offer by HDFC is a year-long offer, therefore despite the reduced discount rate, it is still one of the best dining offers out there.
