Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card and Axis Bank Ace Credit Card are two of the most popular shopping credit cards by Axis Bank in the entry-level segment. While Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card is offered in collaboration with the e-commerce giant Flipkart, the bank offers the Ace Credit Card in partnership with Google Pay. Both these credit cards are cashback credit cards and earn cashback on almost all categories of spends.
No Cashback on Rent Payments
Until now, you used to earn a cashback of 1.5% and 2% on Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card and Axis Bank Ace Credit Card respectively on spends at non-partner merchants (including rent payments). However, with effect from 15th March 2022, you will not get the cashback benefit on rent payments made via Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card and Axis Bank Ace Credit Card.
It is worth noting that the Axis Bank’s offer on rent payment via CRED under which the cardholders get a cashback of up to Rs. 500 on rent payments for two consecutive months was already not applicable on the Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card and Axis Bank Ace Credit Card.

Bottom Line
Card issuers are gradually doing away with any additional cashback/Reward Points benefit that they used to offer on rent payments. On similar lines, we are also seeing that some card issuers are also reducing the reward rate on rent payments. Recently, IndusInd Bank reduced the reward rate on rent payments with their credit cards, and now Axis Bank is completely doing away with the cashback benefit on rent payments made via Axis Bank Flipkart Credit Card and Axis Bank Ace Credit Card. Other credit card issuers are also expected to follow the trend.
