Overview

Zomato in collaboration with RBL Bank launched two credit cards – RBL Bank Edition Classic Credit Card and RBL Bank Edition Black Credit Card that offered great benefits in Dining. Till now both the cards were offering great reward rates as Edition cash on every transaction made with the card. While the Classic variant offered up to 5 Edition cash, the Edition Black card offered up to 10 Edition cash on all spends without any capping. However, with a recent move, the Edition cash earned on Zomato and Blinkit now comes with a capping. Moreover, now the Edition Cash will not be earned for spends made like Fuel, Wallet Load, and Rent payments. The aforementioned changes will be applicable from 20th September 2022. So far the RBL Edition Classic Cardholders were earning 5% Edition Cash on Zomato, 1.5% Edition Cash on other food purchases, and 1% Edition Cash on all other spendings. However, you will still earn 5% Edition Cash on spends made on Zomato (now also Blinkit App) but now the maximum Edition cash (on Zomato and Blinkit spends) has been capped at 500 Edition Cash per day. Also, the 5% Edition cash on dining at restaurants, 10% Edition cash on all spending on Birthdays, and 1.5% Edition cash on other online food purchases have been replaced with 1% Edition Cash on all spending. Apart from this, the cardholder will not receive any Edition cash towards transactions made in Wallet Load, Fuel, and Rent payments. The welcome benefit of 500 Edition cash will now be provided with the paid variant only and not with the lifetime free variant.

Really bad move. Could not believe the changes when I read the first time and assumed they are only adding 5% on Blinkit in addition to everything else. However, got an email reminder for these changes as a confirmation. The card does not really hold much value now and will keep it only because it is LTF for me.

Offline dining benefit should not have been removed. I used this card always at outlets.
