IndusInd Bank to Implement Revised Credit Card Charges

13 May, 2026 / By Amisha Negi / 1 Comment

Credit card users may soon have to pay closer attention to additional transaction charges as banks continue to revise their fee structures. In recent times, several banks have introduced new charges on select spending categories to reduce the misuse of reward points and complimentary credit card benefits.

IndusInd Bank Announces New Credit Card Charges

In line with this trend, IndusInd Bank has announced changes to some credit card charges and transaction fees, which will come into effect from 15 June 2026. The bank’s revised fee structure is aimed at bringing more transparency to different types of transactions. The new charges will apply to fuel spends, transport transactions, and Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC).

Fuel Transaction Fee

Under the revised policy, a 1% fee + GST will be charged on cumulative fuel spends exceeding ₹30,000 or ₹50,000 in a statement cycle, depending on the customer’s credit card variant. For cards such as Platinum RuPay, Platinum, Legend, Nexxt, EazyDiner Platinum, Signature, Samman, and several other listed variants, the fee will apply once fuel spends cross ₹30,000 in a statement cycle. For premium variants like Indulge, Celesta, Crest, Pinnacle, EazyDiner Signature, and Tiger Credit Card, the fee will apply only after fuel spends exceed ₹50,000 in a statement cycle.

However, this charge will not apply to Pioneer Private, Pioneer Heritage, and Indus Solitaire Credit Cards. This change may mainly affect high-spending users who frequently use their credit cards for fuel purchases.

Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) Charges Revised

Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) is a service that allows international transactions to be processed in Indian Rupees instead of the local foreign currency. It is commonly used when shopping abroad or making payments to international merchants, including merchants located in India but registered overseas.

The bank will revise DCC charges and apply a markup fee on such transactions based on the customer’s credit card variant. A 2% fee + GST will be charged on cards such as Platinum RuPay, Platinum, Legend, Nexxt, EazyDiner Platinum, Signature, Samman, Tiger Credit Card, and several other listed variants.

Meanwhile, premium cards, including Pioneer Private, Pioneer Heritage, Pioneer Legacy, Indulge, Celesta, Crest, Indus Solitaire, Pinnacle, Avios Visa Infinite, and EazyDiner Signature, will attract a lower 1% fee + GST on these transactions

Transport Transaction Charges Introduced

IndusInd Bank will charge a 1% + GST on cumulative transport-related transactions exceeding ₹40,000 per statement cycle. The fee will apply to select merchant category codes (MCCs), excluding air travel transactions. The affected MCCs include 4111, 4112, 4784, and 4131. Fee not applicable on Pioneer Private, Pioneer Heritage, and Indus Solitaire.

Interest Calculation Details

IndusInd Bank has changed how interest on credit cards will be charged to customers who make partial payments. Under the new update, even if a customer later pays the full bill amount before the due date, interest will continue to be charged until the payment date and will appear in the next month’s statement. The bank said customers will get the interest-free period again only after paying the following month’s bill in full and on time.

IndusInd Bank Credit Card Revised Charges

Effective Date

All revised charges and fee structures will become applicable from 15 June 2026. Customers are advised to review their spending patterns and understand the updated terms to avoid additional charges.

Bottom Line

In view of these changes, IndusInd Bank credit card users may need to keep a closer watch on their monthly spending and payment habits. While the revised charges are aimed at transaction costs and reducing misuse of card benefits, they could lead to higher expenses for customers who frequently spend on fuel, transport, or international transactions. Cardholders are advised to review the updated fee structure carefully before the new rules come into effect on 15 June 2026.

  • Honestly, these new IndusInd Bank credit card charges on fuel and transport feels like a money grab. Most people use cards for everyday expenses, adding extra fees on these just makes using cards less rewarding.
