AmEx has come up with the Delicious Dining offer under which you can earn 5X Membership Reward Points on dining bill payments at participating restaurants across 20 cities in India – Amritsar, Bangalore, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Mohali, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, New Delhi, Noida, Pune & Thane. The offer is valid from 27th August to 4th November 2021.

American Express Delicious Dining Offer Terms & Conditions:

• You can earn a maximum of 1,500 Membership Reward Points per card during the entire offer period.
• American Express Delicious Dining offer is also applicable on supplementary credit cards and payments made via the supplementary card shall also count towards the max-cap of 1,500 Membership Reward Points.
• There is no minimum transaction amount required to avail the American Express Delicious Dining offer. You’ll earn the Membership Reward Points at the accelerated rate (5X) regardless of the amount of transaction.
• There are no black-out days, i.e. the offer shall be applicable on all days during the offer period without any exceptions.
• In order to avail the offer, you are required to carry your American Express credit card in person to the restaurant and make the transaction. The offer is not applicable on online dining transactions.
• The offer shall be applicable only if you make the payment in full using your American Express credit card. In case part of the payment is made in cash or via any other payment method, the offer shall not be applicable.
• The offer is applicable to all American Express credit cards except American Express PAYBACK Credit Card, American Express Air India Gold Card, Jet Airways American Express Platinum Credit Card and all Corporate Cards issued by American Express.
• You earn regular Membership Reward Points at the time of the transaction, while the additional 4X Points are credited within 5 business days from the date of transaction.
• American Express Delicious Dining offer is valid from 27th August to 4th November 2021.

Bottom Line:

Considering that RBI has allowed HDFC Bank to onboard new credit card customers while the moratorium on American Express still continues, American Express must review its marketing strategy to hold its credit card market share. Other card issuers have also started to promote their credit card business aggressively. Yesterday, IDFC FIRST Bank opened credit card applications for all while Axis Bank is already offering Grab Deals on their credit cards. We can expect more such offers from the various card issuers as the competition heats up in the credit card market.
