2024 has just begun, and we have already witnessed several credit card devaluations. For instance, the IndusInd Legend devaluation or Yes Bank updating its credit card usage terms at lounges. To add to the list, Kotak Bank has also now devalued its 6E Rewards Credit Card. These changes are set to be implemented starting from March 9th, 2024. Let’s take a closer look at these changes.
- Payments made towards rent, wallet loading, education, and government categories will not be counted towards the rewards structure.
- The discounted convenience fee (Rs. 150) while booking flights on the IndiGo portal is no longer a benefit available for IndiGo Kotak 6E Rewards Credit Card holders.
It seems that all major banks are following a trend of devaluing their credit cards by modifying some of their features. Initially, the focus was only on lounge access, but now, other features are also being looked at. For instance, the 6E Card used to offer a discount of Rs. 150, which was charged as a convenience fee while booking with IndiGo. However, this feature has now been discontinued. It is advisable for IndiGo Kotak 6E Rewards Credit Card holders to keep these changes in mind and use their cards accordingly.
