HDFC Bank has announced several changes to the Diners Club Privilege, BizPower, and Regalia Gold Credit Cards. While Diners Club Privilege and BizPower have mostly seen changes to their current benefits, Regalia Gold has also introduced a new benefit called Boarding Edge (Travel Edge).

Starting from 15th May 2026, Regalia Gold will see multiple changes, including a reduction in reward earnings, a ₹60,000 spend requirement for airport lounge access (July, 2026), and the introduction of a card reissuance fee. At the same time, the card now offers the new travel experience benefit, which adds some value. Because of this, it’s difficult to call it a devaluation.
New Travel Benefit – Boarding Edge
With the introduction of Boarding Edge, HDFC Regalia Gold credit cardholders will be eligible for two benefits every quarter by simply uploading their airline boarding pass on the SmartBuy portal.
Cardholders can choose from the following options:
- Spa access at participating wellness centers
- Local airport transfers via Uber
- Dining experiences at participating hotels
- Room upgrades at participating hotels
To access the Boarding Edge (Travel Edge Program) on HDFC Regalia Gold:
- Log in to the SmartBuy portal
- Go to Regalia Gold Benefits
- Select Travel Edge Program
- Upload your boarding pass
- Choose and avail yourself of your benefits
₹60,000 Spend Required for Domestic Airport Lounge Access
Starting from 1st July 2026, cardholders will need to spend ₹60,000 in a calendar quarter to be eligible for domestic airport lounge access. This is one of the most important changes to the card.
Even though domestic airport lounge access is now spend-based, there is no need for any vouchers. Regalia Gold users can simply swipe their card at the lounge to access it.
Only domestic lounge access has been changed. There is no change to the international airport lounge access program.
Reward Rate Changed
From 15th May 2026, the reward earning on the HDFC Regalia Gold Credit Card will change from 4 points per ₹150 to 5 points per ₹200.
This brings down the effective reward rate from 1.73% to 1.625%, which is roughly a 6% drop in value.
| Features | Old | New |
| Rewards Earning | 4 Reward Points/₹150 on All Eligible Retail Spends | 5 Reward Points/₹200 on All Eligible Retail Spends |
| Effective Reward Rate | 1.73% | 1.625% |
NEW Card Reissuance Fee
In case of a lost, stolen, or damaged card, a reissuance fee of ₹199 will be charged. This fee covers secure processing, dispatch, and handling. The change will be effective from 15th May 2026.
Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) Fee
The DCC markup will be revised to 1.75% on international transactions processed in INR. This includes transactions made abroad in INR as well as payments made in India to merchants registered overseas.
Bottom Line
These changes to the HDFC Regalia Gold Credit Card are overall positive, even though the reward rate has been slightly reduced. Cardholders will now get 2 travel benefits per quarter through Boarding Edge, which adds good value.
The Boarding Edge or Travel Edge benefit with Regalia Gold also marks the comeback of DreamFolks for all.
The ₹60,000 spend requirement for airport lounge access also seems reasonable, as it encourages genuine usage of the card instead of holding it just for benefits. There is still no spend requirement for international lounge access, which is a good thing.

After this revision, is HDFC Regalia Gold still the best entry-level premium credit card or is there another one that’s better?

Hello
In order to avail of the Boarding Edge Benefits must the uploaded boarding card be from a ticket booked via HDFC smart buy or can it be from any 3rd party OTA as well ?
Any update on if any of the milestone benefits have been revalued / De- valued ? Like the 1.5L / Qtr Voucher or 5LPA / 7.5LPA airline voucher ?
