Axis Bank has updated the MCC (Merchant Category Code) exclusions for various partner credit cards. This would mean that you would no longer earn cashback and reward points on categories such as education payments, insurance premiums, rental payments, utility bills and government transactions.

Axis Bank MCC Exclusion Updated 2023

Airtel Axis, Freecharge Axis, LIC Axis & Spicejet Axis Bank Credit Card

From 10th December 2023, you will no longer be able to earn EDGE REWARDS, pluspoints (for LIC Axis Credit Cards), Spice Club points (for Spicejet Axis Bank Credit Cards) and cashback on the following categories.

Samsung Axis Bank Credit Card

Samsung Axis Bank Credit Cardholders will no longer offer rewards and cashback on the following categories, along with previous exclusions.

Axis Bank Vistara Credit Cards

Earlier, Axis Bank also made changes to the Axis Bank Vistara Credit Card. From 1st June 2023, you will not earn CV Points for rental payments and wallet reloads with your Vistara Credit Card.

Bottom Line

Starting from December 10th, 2023, Axis Bank Credit Cardholders will not earn reward points on certain categories, such as education, insurance, rental payments, and government services. This change will apply to several Axis Bank Credit Cards, including Airtel Axis, Freecharge Axis, LIC Axis, and Spicejet Axis. The Samsung Axis Bank Credit Card will not accrue points on utility bills and the above categories. This change will significantly impact customers, as many rely on their credit cards to earn rewards on insurance and rental payments.

    My Axis Bank credit card blocked since long plz the credit card be activated paying with the cost from EMI.My credit card last number is 2646.
