We are currently in an era of devolution where many credit cards have had their benefits and features reduced. Even though the number of credit card users is on the rise, the features of many valuable and famed cards have decreased. It appears that the American Express MRCC and Gold Credit Card may be the next in line for changes. As of 1st March, the Gold Karat Collection Rewards Programme has now been devalued. This means that cardholders shall now be getting a reduced value for vouchers in the 18 and 24 Karat collections.

What Are the Changes?

Two new partner brands, Tata Cliq & Reliance Digital, have been added.

AMEX Membership Gold Credit Card Devaluation

The value of Shoppers Stop, Myntra, Amazon, Flipkart, and Tanishq vouchers has been reduced by Rs. 1,000.

AMEX Membership Rewards Points

Bottom Line

All of us are now accustomed to credit card devaluation in India. Whether it is HDFC, Axis, or ICICI Bank, there are no exceptions. Each card issuer has modified their card one way or the other while the cardholder is left with reduced benefits. While there shall be two new additions to the Gold Karat Collection of Amex MRCC, the value for Shoppers Stop, Myntra, Amazon, Flipkart, and Tanishq vouchers shall be reduced. This would lead to a subsequent effect on the cardholder.
