American Express keeps launching exciting offers for its credit cardholders on the Rewards Multiplier portal, which is very similar to the SmartBuy portal of HDFC Bank. Under the recently launched offer, the cardholders can earn 5X points and complimentary gift vouchers worth up to ₹20,000 on achieving the required spending. All eligible American Express Credit Card holders can easily earn vouchers of ₹9,000 on spends of ₹1.5 lakh or more. This would enable additional savings of 4% to 6% for those with AmEx Credit Cards. AmEx Credit Cardholders can earn extra gift vouchers from the AmEx Rewards Multiplier portal. This offer is valid only from April 15, 2024, to April 30, 2024, and only on purchases made via the Rewards Multiplier portal, not directly from the respective merchant’s websites. The additional details of this offer are given in the following table:

To earn the gift voucher mentioned above, you don’t need to spend the total required amount on a single transaction; multiple transactions can also be added up to calculate the total eligible spends.

Offer Terms & Conditions
The cardholders must also fulfill specific terms & conditions to avail of the above offers. These terms & conditions are as follows:
- The offer is valid only from April 15, 2024 to April 30, 2024
- The e-vouchers can only be earned on purchases made via the Rewards Multiplier portal.
- Gift vouchers purchased on Reward Multiplier would not be part of the offer.
- Cardholders do not need to spend the minimum threshold amount on a single transaction; multiple transactions can be made for the same.
- The details of complimentary vouchers will be sent to the cardholders via email before or on 30th September 2024.
- Spending on Supplementary Cards will be attributed to the Basic Card. During the promotion period, cardholders can receive one additional e-voucher per card account (Basic + Supplementary) based on the spending threshold met.
- American Express Corporate Credit Cards are not included in this offer.

Under this recently launched offer, cardholders have an excellent opportunity to get additional vouchers for free. Though the offer is short-term, you can still get the maximum benefit by purchasing from your favorite brands. Ensure you don’t make these purchases directly from the merchant websites/apps but only from the Rewards Multiplier portal. Although this is a great offer from American Express, it is disappointing for many to see that gift voucher purchases are not counted towards the spend-based milestone.
