Earn Up to 20% Rewards on International Spends with Your Visa Credit Card
There have hardly been any offers as rewarding as the Visa Power Travel offer in recent times. Until 30 September 2026, the offer followed a different structure, whereas from October onwards, Visa Power Travel has taken a completely different and more offline-focused approach towards rewards. Regardless of the change, Visa Power Travel is a game-changer for anyone planning an international trip during the offer period.
If you are planning an international trip, just make sure you carry a Visa Credit Card with you. Why? Because you can now earn rewards on your face-to-face, offline international spends with an eligible Visa Credit Card. There are several ongoing rewards and bonuses under the Visa Power Travel campaign, and while the reward structure may look a little complicated at first, it is quite easy to grasp.
Cardholders can earn 0.5% rewards on overseas in-person spends and ATM withdrawals, while eligible Tap to Pay transactions made using a Visa card through Google Pay or Samsung Pay can earn 10% rewards. There is also a one-time ₹10,000 Jetsetter Bonus for spending ₹1 lakh across 20 eligible transactions.
In addition to all this, Visa is also offering a ₹12,000 bonus on eligible overseas education spends during the offer period.
The Visa Power Travel campaign offers four layers of rewards, in addition to the standard credit card rewards that cardholders typically earn. This campaign is valid until January 31, 2027, making it especially beneficial for those planning international travel in the upcoming months.
| Offer Period | Destinations |

Visa Power Travel Rewards
Visa Power Travel offers multiple ways to earn additional rewards on your international spends. Again, these rewards are in addition to whatever your credit card already offers. Here’s how the three major reward components work:
0.5% Rewards on Overseas Spends
Earn 0.5% rewards on eligible overseas in-person spends and ATM withdrawals made using your registered Visa card. This is the base reward offered for all spending abroad. While it may seem low on its own, it stacks well with the other bonuses.
10% Rewards on Tap to Pay
Earn 10% rewards on eligible Tap to Pay transactions made with your Visa card through Google Pay or Samsung Pay. This is one of the most attractive and, in a way, innovative parts of the Visa Power Travel offer. Simply by making eligible transactions through Tap to Pay, you can earn an additional 10% rewards on your spends.
When we talk about credit card rewards, a return of 3% – 5% is generally considered good, while anything above that is already considered excellent. Against that benchmark, earning 10% rewards through Visa Power Travel is exceptional. And this is over and above the regular rewards offered by your credit card, making the overall return even more attractive.
For travelers who can use Google Pay or Samsung Pay abroad, this is arguably one of the most lucrative components of the entire Visa Power Travel campaign.
₹10,000 Jetsetter Bonus
Earn a one-time ₹10,000 Jetsetter Bonus when you spend ₹1 lakh across 20 eligible transactions during the offer period. While this bonus may not be achievable for everyone, those who can meet the ₹1 lakh spending requirement on their eligible Visa Credit Card can unlock a straight-up ₹10,000 bonus.
What makes this particularly attractive is that the Jetsetter Bonus is over and above the other reward opportunities under Visa Power Travel. This means eligible cardholders can potentially earn the regular 0.5% rewards on overseas spends, the 10% rewards on eligible Tap to Pay transactions, and the ₹10,000 Jetsetter Bonus, along with the regular reward points or cashback offered by their credit card.
For someone already planning to spend ₹1 lakh during an international trip, this bonus can significantly increase the overall return from the card.
Pro Tip: If you are finding it difficult to complete the required 20 transactions, consider splitting your eligible spending into smaller transactions where practical. For example, you can use your Visa Credit Card for smaller purchases such as cab rides, grocery shopping, dining, or other everyday expenses. This can help you reach the 20-transaction benchmark more easily while working towards the ₹1 lakh spending requirement.
Bonus Rewards on Overseas Education Spend
Visa Power Travel also offers a limited-time bonus for cardholders making eligible overseas education payments. If you are studying abroad, you can earn a one-time ₹12,000 bonus by paying tuition fees or other eligible overseas education expenses online using your registered Visa card. To qualify, the total eligible education spend must be ₹1.2 lakh or more between 1 July 2026 and 31 January 2027. This effectively gives eligible international students an additional 10% rewards value on reaching the ₹1.2 lakh spending threshold.

Best Credit Cards for Visa Power Travel
While Visa Credit Cards can be quite rewarding under the Visa Power Travel campaign, it is important to consider the forex markup charges applicable to your card when making international transactions. The overall value of the offer depends not only on the additional rewards earned but also on how much you pay in forex fees.
Keeping both the forex markup and international rewards in mind, we have shortlisted some of the Visa Credit Cards that can be particularly suitable for making overseas spends under this campaign.
For this list, we have focused on cards that offer low forex markup along with some rewards on international spends. While international transactions are generally excluded from regular reward earnings on many credit cards, we have tried to include as many cards as possible that continue to offer rewards on eligible overseas spends. We have also deliberately excluded super-premium credit cards, as the objective is to highlight cards that can offer strong overall value to a wider range of international travelers.
Scapia Credit Card
Without a doubt, Scapia is one of the most popular credit cards when it comes to international spending. The card offers a range of benefits apart from zero forex markup, including unlimited domestic airport lounge access, domestic airport shopping benefits, and several other travel-focused perks.
While the latest Scapia Axis Credit Card is currently available only on the Mastercard and RuPay networks, the Scapia cards issued by BOBCARD and Federal Bank are available on the Visa network, making them particularly relevant for the Visa Power Travel campaign. With zero forex markup combined with the additional rewards available through Visa Power Travel, Scapia can be a strong choice for international travelers.
IDFC FIRST Wealth Credit Card
The IDFC FIRST Wealth Credit Card comes with zero joining and annual fees, along with zero forex markup, airport lounge access, and several other benefits. It is one of the more attractive offerings from IDFC FIRST Bank, particularly for international travelers looking to maximize the Visa Power Travel campaign.
The card is available on the Visa Infinite variant, which also makes it eligible for additional Visa benefits such as complimentary movie tickets via District, complimentary Meet & Greet services, and other Visa Infinite privileges. When combined with zero forex markup and the additional rewards available through Visa Power Travel, the IDFC FIRST Wealth Credit Card can be a compelling option for international spending.
HSBC Live+ Credit Card
The HSBC Live+ Credit Card has undergone several revaluations in recent times and has become a strong choice for those looking to earn cashback on their everyday spending. While the card is primarily known for its cashback benefits, it also offers a relatively low 1.99% forex markup on international transactions. Moreover, under a limited-period offer, the card is offering zero forex markup until 31 October 2026, making it an especially attractive choice for the Visa Power Travel campaign during this period.
Apart from the low forex markup, the card also offers airport lounge access. As it is a Visa Infinite card, eligible cardholders may also be able to access Visa Meet & Greet benefits, subject to meeting the applicable international spending requirements.
The card also comes with several other benefits and has a relatively low ₹999 joining and annual fee. However, there is one important drawback for this particular use case: the HSBC Live+ does not offer regular rewards on international spending. Even so, when combined with the Visa Power Travel rewards, the low forex markup makes it a strong option for international spending during the campaign period.
IDFC First Bank Ashva Metal Credit Card
Like all IDFC FIRST Bank Credit Cards, the IDFC FIRST Ashva Credit Card also offers zero forex markup charges, making it a suitable option for international spends under the Visa Power Travel campaign. The card also earns a nominal 2X Reward Points per ₹150 spent, which may not be particularly high but still adds some value on overseas transactions.
When combined with other travel benefits such as airport lounge access and complimentary Visa Infinite Meet & Greet benefits, the Ashva becomes a reasonably good option for those looking to maximize the overall value from their Visa Power Travel spends.
The zero forex markup is the biggest advantage here, as it allows cardholders to avoid the usual forex charges while still earning additional rewards through the Visa Power Travel campaign.
IndusInd Bank Avios Visa Infinite Credit Card
One of the most popular airline credit cards in India, the IndusInd Avios Credit Card can be a strong fit for international spends under the Visa Power Travel campaign. The card offers 6X Avios for every ₹200 spent on Point of Sale transactions at preferred international destinations, along with a relatively low 1.5% forex markup fee at these preferred destinations. This makes the card particularly suitable for earning additional rewards on eligible overseas spends while keeping the forex cost relatively low
Pro Tip: Add-on Credit Cards are counted separately under the Visa Power Travel campaign, so you can register both your primary and add-on Credit Cards. However, the credit limit is shared between the primary and add-on cards. So, if your overall credit limit is low, this could become a limiting factor when trying to meet the required spending thresholds.
Important Terms & Conditions

- Rewards can be redeemed only in ₹1,000 blocks. Amazon and Air India vouchers also have a minimum redemption block of ₹1,000.

- Rewards are currently offered as Amazon or Air India gift cards. Visa reserves the right to replace reward options with alternatives from another merchant or entity.
Bottom Line
Visa Power Travel, in every sense, is one of the most rewarding ongoing offers for those planning to travel abroad. With this offer, it simply does not make much sense to choose a RuPay or Mastercard card when an eligible Visa card can earn additional rewards on top of the regular credit card rewards. Visa has truly gone all out with this campaign, and the reward rate is not the only highlight. The redemption options are equally attractive, as cardholders can redeem their rewards for Amazon Pay or Air India gift cards.
However, I would recommend opting for Amazon Pay vouchers whenever possible, as the balance offers far more flexibility than Air India vouchers. The Air India gift cards also come with a relatively short validity period of around six months, so make sure you have a plan to use them before redeeming.
Overall, anyone planning an international trip during the offer period should remember to register their eligible Visa card on the official Visa Power Travel website before making any spends. Once registered, you can earn additional rewards while traveling abroad. Spend more and unlock a bonus, use Tap to Pay through Google Pay or Samsung Pay and earn additional rewards, and you can even unlock a separate bonus on eligible overseas education spends. All in all, it is a pretty compelling offer for international travelers.
However, iPhone users will unfortunately miss out on the additional 10% rewards on Tap to Pay, as the offer is currently limited to Visa card payments made through Google Pay and Samsung Pay. Therefore, if you are looking to maximize your rewards under Visa Power Travel, using an eligible Android phone would be the better option during the offer period.
