20 August, 2026 / By Kartik Kanwar / 0 Comment

It seems that not long after launching the premium ICICI Times Black Credit Card, ICICI Bank is now looking to take things a step further and enter the ultra-premium credit card segment. The bank has teased the all-new 1838 Reserve Credit Card, which could compete with some of the most exclusive cards in India, including the HSBC Prive, Axis Primus and American Express Centurion Card.

The upcoming 1838 Reserve Credit Card is expected to be ICICI Bank’s most exclusive credit card yet, with a reported joining fee of ₹1,75,000 + GST. For comparison, the ICICI Bank Diamant World Mastercard Credit Card previously carried a joining fee of ₹1,25,000 + GST.

Could The 1838 Reserve Be On Visa Infinite Privilege?

One of the more interesting aspects of the 1838 Reserve teaser is the timing of its announcement. ICICI Bank has teased the 1838 Reserve Credit Card in association with The Times of India, while Visa has also recently introduced its Visa Infinite Privilege and Visa Infinite Private platforms in India.

Visa Infinite Credit Card Series

Considering the positioning and reported ₹1.75 lakh + GST fee of the 1838 Reserve, it would not be surprising if ICICI Bank eventually places the card on one of Visa’s ultra-premium platforms.

However, this is currently only speculation, as ICICI Bank has not confirmed the network or variant of the 1838 Reserve Credit Card.

Bottom Line

The ICICI Bank 1838 Reserve Credit Card is certainly an interesting development in India’s ultra-premium credit card space.

When the Axis Primus was launched, it was positioned on the Visa Infinite Privilege network and came with a ₹5,00,000 + GST joining fee. With the 1838 Reserve reportedly carrying a ₹1,75,000 + GST joining fee, it would be reasonable to speculate that ICICI Bank could also opt for one of Visa’s most premium platforms for the card.

That said, the network, benefits, and eligibility criteria have not been officially confirmed yet.

For now, the 1838 Reserve remains a teaser rather than a full-fledged launch. But if ICICI Bank manages to back its ₹1.75 lakh price tag with the right combination of luxury travel, hospitality, concierge, and exclusive experiences, it could become one of the most interesting premium credit cards in India.

Till then, those interested can express their interest in the card and wait for further details from ICICI Bank.
