Air India has expanded its loyalty ecosystem by adding Flipkart as a new partner for its Maharaja Club program.
Air India, long considered a go-to airline for both domestic and international travel, has been steadily building its loyalty program with popular partners like Zomato and Marriott Bonvoy. The addition of Flipkart further strengthens this ecosystem, allowing users to convert everyday rewards into travel benefits.
With this partnership, Flipkart users can now convert their SuperCoins into Maharaja Points. The conversion ratio stands at: 5 SuperCoins = 2 Maharaja Points, and a minimum of 50 SuperCoins is required for conversion.
This means users can turn rewards earned from shopping, bill payments, and OTT subscriptions into points that can be redeemed for Air India award flights or cabin upgrades.
How to Convert SuperCoins to Maharaja Points
- Open the Flipkart app and go to the SuperCoins section
- Select SuperCoin Partners and choose Air India Maharaja Club
- Link your Maharaja Club account using your membership ID
- Enter the number of SuperCoins you wish to convert
- Confirm the transfer
- Your Maharaja Points will be credited within 3 days
Bottom Line
While this is a positive move for the Maharaja Club as it continues to expand its partner network and offer more flexibility to consumers, the conversion ratio of 5:2 is not very rewarding.
Flipkart SuperCoins can typically be redeemed at a value of ₹1 per coin, and sometimes even up to 2x during sales. In comparison, Maharaja Points have a more dynamic and often lower value, making this conversion less attractive.
That said, this option can still be useful for users who are just a few Maharaja Points short of a redemption and need a quick top-up. For most users, however, it may be better to stick to other earning methods for Air India Maharaja Club Points, such as earning through partners like Zomato or directly via flights.
