Changes to Axis RuPay Debit Card Effective from October 1st

Axis Bank has made some changes to the features of the RuPay Platinum Debit Card, which will be effective from 1st October 2024. The updates include access to the domestic lounge every calendar quarter for free, which will be based on spending a minimum of ₹5,000 in the previous three calendar months. New cardholders who have issued the RuPay debit card for the first time have a privilege as the minimum spend criteria are waived off for the first three months, which means they do not need to spend any money to use the free domestic airport lounge. Cardholders will now be able to enjoy lounge access based on their debit card spending, with a minimum spending requirement of ₹5,000 over the previous three months.

Revised List of Eligible Lounges Across India

Another change is the revised list of participating domestic airport lounges across India. The card has updated the list of domestic lounges which will also be effective from 1st October. Now people with the Axis RuPay Debit Card can access these lounges without any worry. As a reminder, the list is only for domestic lounges; international lounges and railway lounges are not included.

Revamping of Visits every Quarter

The most enticing change is the complimentary access to domestic lounges. From 1st October 2024, the visits per quarter for Axis  Debit Cardholders under the lounge program will be revamped. Users will get one complimentary visit every quarter till 30th July 2024. To be qualified for this program, users need to make purchases worth ₹5,000 in-store or online, and ATM transactions will not be considered valid for this program. To be eligible, cardholders beads to have a valid Axis Bank debit card. Cardholders can access participating airport lounges for free or by paying.
