When it comes to co-branded shopping credit cards, both Reliance SBI Card and Reliance SBI Card PRIME are for people who frequently shop across Reliance stores and platforms.

Reliance SBI Vs Reliance SBI PRIME

However, they differ mainly in terms of fees, rewards, and overall benefits. The base variant, Reliance SBI Card, is a budget-friendly option with a lower joining fee and decent rewards on everyday spending, especially at Reliance outlets. On the other hand, Reliance SBI Card PRIME is a more premium version that offers higher reward points, better welcome benefits, and added perks like lounge access and movie tickets, but at a higher annual fee.

Both cards target the same group of people; the choice between them depends on how much you spend and whether you want basic savings or premium benefits.

In Terms of the Fee Structure

When it comes to choosing a credit card the first thing that a user looks for is the joining and renewal fee. The Reliance SBI is a base model, and it comes with a joining fee and annual fee of Rs. 499 + GST, which is quite low as compared to its premium model, Reliance SBI Card PRIME, which comes at a joining and annual fee of ₹2,999 + GST, which is reasonal as it comes with many more benefits.

In Terms of Welcome Benefits

The welcome benefits on these two cards are quite different. The Reliance SBI Card gives you a ₹500 Reliance voucher and discount vouchers worth about ₹3,200, so the total benefit is around ₹3,700.

On the other hand, the Reliance SBI Card PRIME offers much higher benefits, with a ₹3,000 Reliance voucher and additional vouchers worth about ₹11,999, adding up to nearly ₹15,000.

Both cards provide welcome benefits, but the Reliance SBI Card Prime offers more value to its users and can be used at participating Reliance Retail stores.

In Terms of Milestone Benefits

With the Reliance SBI Card, the benefits are smaller and come at lower spending levels. If you spend ₹25,000 in a year, you get a ₹500 voucher. At ₹50,000 spent, you get ₹750, and at ₹80,000 spent, you get ₹1,000. So, the rewards are easy to reach, but the value you get back is not very high.

With the Reliance SBI Card PRIME, the milestones are higher, but the rewards are bigger as compared to the base model. You get a ₹1,500 voucher on ₹75,000 spend, ₹2,250 on ₹1.5 lakh, and ₹5,000 on ₹3 lakh spend. Overall, you can earn up to ₹8,750 in vouchers per year, which is much more than the basic card.

The SBI Card is better if you spend less and want small, easy rewards. The PRIME card is better if you spend more, because even though the targets are higher, the rewards you get are also quite high.

In Terms of Reward Structure

With the Reliance SBI Card, the rewards are simple but lower. You get 5 points for every ₹100 spent at Reliance stores, dining, and movies. For all other spending, you get 1 point per ₹100. If you pay through UPI at Reliance stores, the rewards drop to just 1 point per ₹100. Each point is worth ₹0.25, so the overall return is decent but not very high.

With the Reliance SBI Card PRIME, the rewards are much higher, especially if you shop a lot within the Reliance retail shops. You get 20 points per ₹100 on AJIO and JioMart, and 10 points per ₹100 at other Reliance stores. Dining, movies, travel, and entertainment give you 5 points per ₹100, and other spending gives 2 points per ₹100.

The regular SBI Card gives steady but lower rewards, while the PRIME card gives much higher rewards, especially if you spend more on Reliance brands.

Bottom Line

Both cards are good in their own way, but the Reliance SBI Card PRIME clearly stands out if you want more value and better benefits. Yes, the annual fee is higher, but the rewards, welcome benefits, and milestone vouchers are also much higher in comparison. If you regularly shop on platforms like AJIO, JioMart, or other Reliance stores, the higher reward points can quickly add up and give you good returns.

The PRIME card also feels more rewarding in the long run, especially for people who spend more every year. From bigger milestone benefits to stronger reward earnings across categories like shopping, travel, and entertainment, it offers more overall value.

If your spending is low and you just want a basic card, the regular Reliance SBI Card works fine. But if you want to get the most out of your spending and don’t mind paying a higher fee, the Reliance SBI Card PRIME is a better and more rewarding option.
