BOBCARD Credit Cards Devaluation July 2026 – Lounge Access, Finance Charges & More Revised

13 July, 2026 / By Kartik Kanwar / 0 Comment

BOBCARD has emerged as one of the most rewarding credit card issuers in recent months, thanks to the launch of the BOBCARD Etihad and BOBCARD Etihad Premium Credit Cards, along with lifetime free offers on popular cards like Eterna and Premier.

However, the bank has now announced a series of revisions across its credit card portfolio. These changes will come into effect from 15th July 2026, while the revised lounge access criteria will apply from 1st October 2026.

BOBCARD Credit Cards Devaluation July 2026

One of the biggest changes is the increased spending requirement for unlimited domestic lounge access on the BOBCARD Eterna, Eterna FD, Tiara, and Varunah Premium Credit Cards. Cardholders will now have to spend ₹75,000 in the previous calendar quarter, up from the existing ₹40,000, to continue enjoying unlimited domestic lounge visits.

Airport Lounge Access Spend Requirement Increased

One of the biggest changes is for cardholders of the following premium BOBCARD credit cards:

  • Eterna
  • Eterna FD
  • Tiara
  • Varunah Premium

Currently, cardholders need to spend ₹40,000 in the previous calendar quarter to enjoy unlimited domestic airport lounge access in the following quarter. From 1st October 2026, this spend requirement will increase to ₹75,000 per preceding calendar quarter, while the benefit itself will continue to remain unlimited.

Finance Charges Increased

BOBCARD has also revised finance charges for the following cards:

  • Eterna
  • Eterna FD
  • Tiara

The finance charge will increase from 3.25% per month (39% p.a.) to 3.75% per month (45% p.a.), effective 15th July 2026.

Changes to BOBCARD HPCL Cards

Cardholders of BOBCARD HPCL Credit Cards will also see a change in how fuel benefits are awarded.

From 15th July 2026, accelerated reward points and fuel surcharge waiver will only be applicable at eligible HPCL fuel outlets included in the merchant list shared by HPCL. Transactions made at outlets outside this list will no longer qualify for these benefits.

Insurance Benefits Discontinued on Select Cards

BOBCARD has also revised its complimentary insurance benefits.

For a number of card variants, Air and Non-Air Accidental Death Cover will no longer be available on cards issued after 15th July 2026. Existing eligible cards issued on or before this date will continue to receive the insurance benefit only until 25th August 2026

The affected card variants include:

  • Eterna & Eterna FD
  • Premier & Premier FD
  • Select & Select FD
  • Tiara
  • Empower Business
  • Elite
  • Renaissance
  • Corporate Platinum
  • Platinum Select
  • Signature
  • Prime
  • Assure
  • Swavlamban
  • Pragati BUPB
  • Pragati BGGB
  • Pragati BRKGB

BOBCARD Credit Card Changes

Bottom Line

BOBCARD has rolled out a mixed bag of revisions, but the most notable change is undoubtedly the increase in the airport lounge spend requirement from ₹40,000 to ₹75,000 per calendar quarter for its premium cards. While the unlimited lounge benefit continues, cardholders will now need to spend nearly twice as much to remain eligible.

The increase in finance charges and the discontinuation of insurance benefits on several card variants further add to the devaluation.
