Kotak Mahindra Bank and IndiGo have once again collaborated to bring about the IndiGo Kotak and IndiGo Kotak XL Credit Cards. Both of these cards are most suited for those who often fly with the country’s most popular airline, IndiGo.
The IndiGo Kotak XL Credit Card is the premium variant out of the two IndiGo co-branded offerings. It comes with a joining/annual fee of ₹3,000 and offers welcome and renewal benefits that match the price. This card is designed for frequent travelers, especially those who often fly with IndiGo. It is available in both Visa and RuPay variants, allowing cardholders to earn rewards even on UPI payments with the RuPay variant.

Final Thoughts
One would expect that after a long hiatus from the credit card space, Kotak Mahindra Bank would return with improved offerings, both in terms of card features and customer benefits. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Starting with the discontinuation of the Kotak Myntra Credit Card and now the underwhelming launch of the IndiGo Kotak XL Credit Card, the bank’s latest moves are far from impressive.
The first major drawback of the IndiGo Kotak XL Credit Card lies in its reward structure. While it claims to offer up to 21 IndiGo BluChips per ₹100 spent on flight bookings, a significant portion of those rewards is available to all BluChips members by default. The card only provides an additional 5 BluChips per ₹100 spent, making it difficult to justify the value proposition. Moreover, since the exact monetary value of one BluChip isn’t clearly defined, it’s hard to even calculate the actual reward rate of the card.
For an airline co-branded credit card, one would reasonably expect both domestic and international lounge access. Yet, this card disappoints by offering only domestic lounge access, another missed opportunity.
Overall, the IndiGo Kotak XL Credit Card offers a rather basic set of benefits that don’t stand out, especially when compared to other travel credit cards in the same fee range. With limited advantages to holding a Kotak Mahindra credit card in general, this feels like a lackluster entry in an already competitive space.
