In the devaluation section, Yes Bank often makes headlines due to its frequent devaluation actions, which occur almost daily. As of early 2025, Yes Bank has devalued its credit cards, with changes starting in May or April of this year. This time, the bank has added more categories to the list of exclusions (government, advertisement, and marketing) for earning reward points and has removed the option for an over-limit facility on its credit cards. Let’s take a closer look at the complete changes for Yes Bank credit cards.

Removal of Overlimit Feature for Yes Credit Cards
Starting May 1, 2025, YES BANK will discontinue the Overlimit feature on its credit cards. Customers currently using the Overlimit facility will have this option disabled, and any transactions exceeding the sanctioned credit limit will be automatically declined. As a result, overlimit charges of ₹500/- exclusive of GST will no longer apply from this date onward.

Bottom Line
It seems that Yes Bank credit cards have lost their charm and allure, reflecting a continuous downward spiral for the issuer. Over time, many benefits associated with their credit cards have been reduced. Even premium credit cards, like the Marquee, have unnecessarily high airport lounge access spending requirements. Now Yes Bank Credit Cards shall no longer offer Reward Points for marketing, advertisement, and government spends. This opens up a whole new category with which one shall not earn any points.
With Yes Bank credit cards, one must keep track of various criteria and requirements, making the entire process tedious and cumbersome.
