Punjab National Bank (PNB) has introduced a new variant of its LUXURA Premium Metal Credit Card, specially designed for Indian Army personnel of Officer rank. The new card comes in Visa and RuPay variants and builds on the existing LUXURA proposition with benefits tailored for Army officers.
The new PNB LUXURA Premium Metal Credit Card comes with a nil joining fee, while the annual fee is ₹1,999 + GST. However, the annual fee is waived if the cardholder spends more than ₹5 lakh annually on the card.
At the same time, PNB has also introduced the PNB Parakram Credit Card, designed for Indian Army personnel of JCO/OR rank and below. While the Parakram focuses on a lifetime-free proposition with CSD cashback, the new LUXURA variant is positioned as a more premium offering for Army officers.
3% Cashback on CSD Spends and More
One of the most relevant benefits for Army officers is the 3% cashback on all CSD spends. The cashback is available when spending in a billing cycle exceeds ₹6,000, with the cashback capped at ₹3,000 per billing cycle. This means eligible CSD spending of ₹1 lakh in a billing cycle would reach the maximum cashback limit of ₹3,000.
The PNB LUXURA Premium Metal Credit Card also offers 4 Reward Points for every ₹150 spent on eligible transactions, excluding restricted MCCs. The card even comes with milestone rewards based on annual spending:
- ₹5 lakh spend: 8,000 Reward Points, worth ₹2,000
- ₹10 lakh spend: 16,000 Reward Points, worth ₹4,000
- ₹15 lakh spend: 24,000 Reward Points, worth ₹6,000
Eligibility and Credit Limit
The new LUXURA variant is specifically available to Indian Army personnel of Officer rank.
The stated credit limits are:
- Up to ₹5 lakh for officers up to the rank of Lt. Colonel
- Up to ₹15 lakh for officers of the rank of Colonel and above
Applicants are required to provide KYC documents, the latest salary slip and an Indian Army identity card.
Bottom Line
The new PNB LUXURA Premium Metal Credit Card is a more premium addition to PNB’s Army-focused credit card portfolio. With 3% CSD cashback, unlimited domestic and international lounge access, zero forex markup, milestone rewards and premium hotel and lifestyle benefits, the card is clearly designed for Army officers with higher spending requirements.
The simultaneous launch of the Parakram Credit Card also shows PNB’s attempt to create separate propositions for different ranks within the Indian Army. While Parakram is a lifetime-free card focused on everyday benefits and CSD cashback, LUXURA takes the premium route with a wider range of travel, lifestyle and protection benefits.
