After an amazing vacation in Kuala Lumpur, it was finally time to head back to Delhi. Since I had reached the airport well before my flight, I didn’t want to spend the next few hours sitting in the busy departure area with my luggage. Instead, I decided to relax at the Plaza Premium Lounge at KLIA Terminal 1 before heading for immigration. I was hoping for a comfortable place to relax, enjoy a good meal, and recharge before my journey home, and it turned out to be the perfect way to end my trip. The lounge offers comfortable seating, complimentary Wi-Fi, charging stations, hot meals, beverages, and other facilities that make waiting for your flight much more enjoyable.
First Impression
The moment I stepped into the lounge, it felt like I had left the noisy airport behind. It was spacious, clean, and had a warm, cozy vibe that instantly helped me relax. The soft lighting, wooden interiors, comfy chairs, and little green plants made it feel less like an airport lounge and more like a peaceful café where I could simply slow down for a while.
But what really made a difference was the staff. They welcomed me with genuine smiles, were polite throughout my visit, and were always around if anyone needed help. I also noticed how quickly they cleared tables and kept the buffet neat and fully stocked, which made the whole place feel well looked after. It never felt too fancy or formal; instead, it was comfortable and easy to settle into.
Whether I wanted to enjoy a meal, charge my phone, catch up on some work, or simply sit back before my flight to Delhi, there was a perfect spot waiting for me.
The Buffet That Almost Made Me Miss My Flight
I’m the kind of traveler who believes you can judge an airport lounge by its food, and this one definitely didn’t disappoint. The first thing I did after finding my seat was head straight to the buffet, and I was honestly spoiled for choice.
There was a nice mix of Malaysian dishes and international favorites, from fresh salads, soups, rice and noodle dishes to pastries, cakes, fresh fruits, tea, coffee, juices, and soft drinks. I couldn’t resist trying a few local Malaysian dishes before flying back to Delhi, and they turned out to be one of the highlights of my visit.
Everything tasted fresh, the food trays were regularly refilled, and the staff made sure nothing stayed empty for long. It may not be a fine-dining experience, but for an airport lounge, the food was delicious, satisfying, and exactly what I needed before a long flight home.
A Comfortable Spot Before Takeoff
One thing I never have to worry about in this lounge is finding a comfortable place to sit. Instead of rows of identical chairs, there were different seating options for every kind of traveler. I spotted dining tables for people enjoying a meal, cozy armchairs that were perfect for sipping a cup of coffee, and quieter corners where people were reading, working, or simply relaxing before their flight.
I settled into a comfy chair, plugged in my phone at one of the many charging points, and finally took a deep breath. Even as the lounge became busier, it never felt too loud or crowded. There was still a calm, peaceful vibe that made the wait for my flight feel less like waiting and more like taking a well-deserved break.
Is It Worth It?
Absolutely! Looking back, spending a few hours at the Plaza Premium Lounge was one of the best ways to end my vacation in Kuala Lumpur. Instead of waiting at a crowded boarding gate, I got to enjoy a good meal, relax in a comfortable chair, charge my devices, and simply take a break before my flight back to Delhi.
The friendly staff, peaceful atmosphere, and delicious food made the whole experience feel special. If you have lounge access through your credit card, Priority Pass, or airline, I would definitely recommend making the most of it. And even if you’re thinking of paying for entry, I’d say it’s worth considering, especially if you have a long wait before your flight and want to start your journey home feeling relaxed instead of tired.
