Kotak Private Credit Card Teased (₹49,000 Annual Fee & Exclusive Invite-Only Access)
After the Kotak Solitaire Credit Card, Kotak Mahindra Bank is preparing to introduce another ultra-premium offering, the Kotak Private Credit Card. The upcoming card is aimed at an extremely exclusive segment of affluent customers and is being positioned as one of the bank’s most prestigious credit card offerings.
According to the promotional webpage, only 0.0004% of India’s population will receive the Kotak Private Credit Card. The bank has even added an interesting tagline: “The rest have our apologies.”
While the card’s complete rewards structure and lifestyle benefits are yet to be revealed, its Key Fact Statement (KFS) is now available. It gives us a first look at the card’s annual fee, forex markup, interest rates, and other charges.

Only 0.0004% of India’s Population Will Receive the Card
One of the most interesting aspects of the Kotak Private Credit Card is its extremely limited availability. According to Kotak’s promotional webpage, only 0.0004% of India’s population will receive this card.
To put this into perspective, the percentage translates to approximately four individuals per million people. Based on India’s population of around 1.45 billion, this would represent roughly 5,800 individuals.
However, this is only an illustrative calculation. The bank has not disclosed the exact number of cards it intends to issue. Its promotional claim is based on a five-year United Nations population projection.
Bottom Line
There has been considerable movement in India’s premium and ultra-premium credit card segment recently, with several new launches and improvements to existing offerings. From the launch of ALL Accor with RuPay Ekaa variant to the upcoming ICICI 1838 Reserve Credit Card, banks are increasingly focusing on the affluent customer segment. The Kotak Private Credit Card is another addition to this growing space.
A zero forex markup, interest-free cash advances, and a ₹10,000 annual fuel surcharge waiver are some of the notable features revealed in its KFS. However, with an annual fee of ₹49,000, the card will need a compelling rewards structure and premium lifestyle benefits to justify its positioning.
For now, Kotak is putting exclusivity at the forefront, but whether the card delivers enough value beyond its invitation-only status will depend on the benefits yet to be announced. We will update this page as Kotak Mahindra Bank reveals more details about the card.
