Kotak Mahindra Bank Launches All New Solitaire Credit Card

7 May, 2025 / By Kartik Kanwar / 5 Comment

As previously predicted, Kotak Mahindra Bank has officially launched the all-new premium Solitaire Credit Card. There was considerable speculation about the card’s benefits, fees, and features prior to its release, and now it is finally available.

Kotak Unveils Solitaire Credit Card

The Kotak Solitaire Credit Card has zero joining charges and an annual fee of ₹25,000 + GST; however, the annual fees are waived for Solitaire customers. This card is ideal for high-net-worth individuals, particularly those who travel abroad frequently. It offers excellent features for travelers, including zero Forex markup charges and unlimited access to airport lounges for both primary and add-on cardholders. Even guest visits are provided with this card.

About Kotak Solitaire Credit Card

  • Zero joining charges. Annual charges – ₹25,000 + GST (waived for Kotak Solitaire customers)
  • Unlimited airport lounge access across the globe for both primary and add-on cardholders. Two guest visits are also offered for both domestic and international airport lounges.
  • This card has Zero Forex Markup Charges. While this would have been a significant advantage for this card, it does not offer any reward points for international spending.
  • Earn 10 Air Miles/₹100 spent on Kotak Unbox (dedicated rewards and booking platform for Kotak customers). 3 Air Miles/₹100 spent on other eligible purchases. All Air Miles shall be valid for three years.
  • Cardholders can transfer their Air Miles to several transfer partners at respective ratios.
  • 1% fuel surcharge waiver applicable for transactions between ₹400 and ₹7,500, with a maximum waiver of ₹10,000 in an anniversary year.
  • This card is available on the RuPay network.

Bottom Line

Many individuals were hoping for some extraordinary features from the latest offering by Kotak Mahindra Bank, especially considering the 10-month ban the bank previously faced. However, one of the first moves Kotak made after the ban was lifted was to devalue several of its credit cards. They have now launched the Kotak Solitaire Credit Card, which has also fallen short of expectations. The card comes with high fees and exceptionally low rewards, making it difficult to compete with offerings like the Emeralde Private and HDFC Infinia Credit Cards.

Kotak is in credit card business to just extend a product and not bothered about making it consumer centric. That’s why they lag in innovation, attractiveness and features. They don’t even compare with cards issued by RBL Bank. Not sure why anyone should take their cards and waste their spends on them. Zero vision. Can’t even copy properly.
