Members of the BluChip loyalty program earn BluChips, the program’s currency, through spending within the ecosystem. Joining the membership is free, and you can easily sign up via IndiGo’s website or mobile app. The program features a three-tier system, Blu 3, Blu 2, and Blu 1, with increasing rewards as you move up

• 5 IndiGo BluChips/₹100 spent on using the IndiGo Kotak Credit Card

You get 8 BluChips from the airline, plus an additional 4 if you’re a Tier 1 member, and another 5 from your Kotak XL Card. Yes, these all stack.

This sums up to 21 BluChips per ₹100 spent. The IndiGo BluChips do not have a fixed rate of return; their value fluctuates between ₹0.40 and ₹0.60. If we assume their value to be ₹0.40, at the least, they offer an effective return rate of 8.4%.

Redeeming BluChips

Members can use IndiGo Bluchips, the program’s currency, to book IndiGo flights and receive special discounts on specific 6E Add-ons. These include Seat Select, Excess Baggage, and Fast Forward services. Bluchips can also be redeemed for IndiGo flights, requiring a minimum of 500 BluChips. There are cases when or where you can’t use Indigo BluChips, which are:

• Codeshare flights such as Turkish Airlines and Qantas
• Round-Trip Flights (Can only be used for one-way flights)
• To cover up for taxes, convenience fees, etc.

BluChips Expiration – BluChips’ validity is reviewed monthly and remains valid for 24 months from the date of accrual. If you perform any accrual or redemption activity within that period, the validity of your BluChips will automatically be extended by an additional 24 months.
