HDFC Credit Cardholders Can Now Transfer Points to Marriott Bonvoy

Marriott Bonvoy is by far one of the most popular hotel loyalty programs in India. It offers several benefits, including early check-in, accelerated Marriott Bonvoy points earnings, and more. Marriott Bonvoy is a name synonymous with American Express Credit Cards, as the points earned there can be transferred at a 1:1 ratio. While one can also transfer points from other popular credit cards issued by, say, Axis Bank, no such facility was available for those with HDFC Bank Credit Cards, which was quite surprising since it is the largest credit card issuer in India, with no direct route to transfer points to Marriott Bonvoy. Well, that now changes, as those with HDFC Bank Credit Cards can now transfer points directly to Marriott Bonvoy.

HDFC Bank has now added Marriott Bonvoy to the list of transfer partners available for HDFC Infinia, Diners Club Black, and Regalia Gold Credit Cards. Those who hold these cards can now directly transfer their reward points to it.

HDFC Reward Points to Marriott Bonvoy Points

Given below are the transfer ratios at which cardholders can transfer their reward points to the Marriott Bonvoy program. Currently, this transfer is only available with three HDFC Bank Credit Cards.

Bottom Line

Even though HDFC Bank has now added Marriott Bonvoy as a transfer partner, it is best not to use this option as the transfer ratios are not quite favorable. A 2:1 ratio for premium cards like HDFC Infinia and Diners Club Black Metal is simply not up to the mark. Only those who are in dire need of Bonvoy points should opt for this transfer if all other avenues aren’t available.

In the end, transferring points to Bonvoy is best left for American Express Credit Cards.
