Equitas Credit Cards Devaluation – Air Accident and Credit Shield Insurance Benefits Removed

11 March, 2026 / By Kartik Kanwar / 0 Comment

Equitas Bank has announced that Complimentary Air Accident Death Cover, Personal Accident Death Cover, and Credit Shield Insurance will be removed from its credit cards starting 1 April 2026.

Equitas Credit Cards Complimentary Benefits Discontinued from April

This change is not very significant for most users, as such insurance benefits are rarely used by cardholders. Many people already rely on separate insurance policies for such coverage, so the removal does not greatly impact the overall value of the cards. Similar changes have also been made by other issuers such as SBI Card, making this a broader industry trend.

However, cardholders with premium products like the Equitas PowerMiles Credit Card may be slightly concerned. Since it is a premium card launched not long ago, the removal of benefits may raise questions among users who expect stronger and more stable features from a high-end offering.

Equitas Credit Cards Few Benefits Disconituned

Bottom Line

The removal of accident and credit shield insurance benefits from Equitas credit cards is a minor change and will not affect most cardholders in a big way. Since all other features, fees, and terms of the cards remain the same, the overall value of the cards largely stays unchanged. However, some users, especially those holding premium cards, may feel the card has slightly fewer benefits than before.

These insurance covers will be removed starting 1 April 2026, and there are no other changes to the existing features or benefits of Equitas credit cards.
