HSBC Bank sends all the credit cards in a deactivated form and you are required to activate the 4-digit PIN in order to start using the credit card for making online or offline transactions. 4-digit PIN is a Personal Identification Number used to authenticate and confirm payment. The HSBC Bank provides you certain ways using which you can generate or change your credit card 4-digit PIN.

How to generate HSBC Credit Card PIN?

You can generate HSBC Credit Card PIN using HSBC ATM, PIN-Based transaction, or phone banking.

HSBC ATM

Once you receive your credit card from the bank, go to the ATM and activate your credit card by generating a 4-digit Personal Identification Number. Here is how you can generate HSBC credit card PIN using HSBC ATM;

Step1: Visit the nearest Bank’s ATM and insert your credit card into the machine.
Step 2: Select the language of your choice and then click on ‘Create new ATM PIN’.
Step 3: Select the OTP option to generate the new PIN. Enter your registered mobile number.
Step 4: An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number, enter that OTP.
Step 5: Enter the new 4-digit pin twice and click on ‘Submit’.

PIN-based transaction

If you do not want to generate your credit card pin using ATM or phone banking, then you can generate it by using a PIN-based transaction. For this, you need to make an online transaction that requires a PIN. While making an online transaction you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number and from there on you can select to generate a 4-digit PIN.

Phone-Banking

You can also generate the credit card 4-digit pin by opting for the phone banking method. You can contact HSBC Customer Care support and request them for creating a 4-digit PIN for your credit card. Call on toll-free numbers 1800 267 3456 or 1800 121 2208.

How to change HSBC Credit Card PIN?

HSBC Bank provides you three options to choose from so that you can change your credit card PIN. They are:

ATM

If you don’t remember the PIN, then you can change it using ATM services.

Step 1: Go to the nearest HSBC Bank’s ATM and insert your credit card inside the ATM machine.
Step 2: Enter the existing 4-digit PIN and then select PIN services.
Step 3: Various options will reflect upon the ATM machine and select Change PIN.
Step 4: Enter a new PIN twice and click on confirm.

Mobile App

Using HSBC bank’s mobile app can be the best option to go for as it is convenient to use and easy to understand. You can use it anytime and from anywhere. Here is how to change your credit card pin using a mobile app:

Step 1: Download HSBC mobile app and log in using your internet baking details.
Step 2: Select your credit card and tap on Manage Cards.
Step 3: Now click on the ‘Reset credit card PIN’ and set a new 4-digit credit card PIN.
Step 4: After entering the new credit card PIN click on Submit.

Phone Banking

Contact customer care on the toll-free numbers 1800 267 3456 or 1800 121 2208 and ask for changing your credit card pin. The customer care number is available during office hours only from 6:30 am to 8:30 pm.
