Langkawi has become one of the most popular international holiday destinations among Indian travelers. With Malaysia offering visa-free entry for Indian passport holders and Langkawi being just a short domestic flight away from Kuala Lumpur, the island has quickly become a favorite for beach vacations and family holidays.

If you’re flying out of Langkawi International Airport (LGK), you’ll find just one airport lounge, the Plaza Premium Lounge. While the airport itself is relatively small, the lounge provides a comfortable place to relax before your departure.
Here’s our experience at the lounge.
Plaza Premium Lounge Langkawi Location
Address:
Main Terminal
Level 1, Arrival Hall
Public Concourse (Outside Security)
Since Langkawi Airport is compact, finding the lounge isn’t difficult. It is located near the beginning of the terminal if you’re departing and near the exit if you’ve just landed.
One thing worth noting is that the lounge is located landside (outside security). This means you’ll need to visit the lounge before completing security and immigration formalities.
How to Access the Plaza Premium Lounge
Entry into the lounge is straightforward.
Simply present:
- Boarding Pass
- Passport
- Eligible lounge access card or membership
During our visit, both Priority Pass and DreamFolks cards were accepted without any issues.
Several Indian premium credit cards that offer Priority Pass or DreamFolks lounge access should work here, making it a convenient option for Indian travelers.
Seating & Ambience
Considering the size of Langkawi Airport, the lounge offers a comfortable amount of seating.
The interiors are modern with warm wooden finishes and soft lighting, creating a relaxing atmosphere before your flight. There are multiple seating options, including lounge chairs, dining tables, and work-friendly high-top tables.
Charging points are available across different seating areas, making it easy to charge your phone or laptop while waiting.
Since the airport itself isn’t very busy, the lounge also remained relatively peaceful during our visit.
Food & Beverage
The Plaza Premium Lounge offers a decent spread of refreshments.
You’ll find:
- Tea & Coffee
- Soft Drinks
- Fresh Juices
- Snacks
- Bakery Items
- Hot Food
- Salads
One interesting feature was the Coca-Cola machine. It was surprisingly fun to use, and the drinks tasted slightly different from regular bottled Coke.
Personally, I wasn’t particularly hungry during my visit, so I only tried a muffin, which was fresh and tasted good.
Vegetarian Options
This is one area where Indian vegetarian travelers may find the selection somewhat limited.
Since Langkawi caters primarily to international tourists and the local Malaysian palate, most of the hot food available consisted of seafood and non-vegetarian dishes.
Overall Experience
The Plaza Premium Lounge at Langkawi Airport is exactly what you’d expect from a regional airport lounge: comfortable, clean, and functional.
It isn’t particularly large or extravagant, but then again, neither is Langkawi Airport. The seating is comfortable, the lounge is well-maintained, and the beverage selection is good. While the vegetarian food options are limited, most travelers should still find enough refreshments before boarding.
If you have complimentary lounge access through your credit card, Priority Pass, or DreamFolks membership, it’s definitely worth stopping by before your flight.
