Airport Lounge Access via DreamFolks Stops for Axis Bank Credit Cards – ICICI Bank Likely to Exit Too

The domestic airport lounge access programs of Axis Bank and ICICI Bank hang in the balance as reports of a potential termination of their partnership with DreamFolks surface.

Recently, there have been growing indications that ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, and Mastercard are exploring alternative partners for airport lounge access services. This possible shift away from DreamFolks, long considered the premier player in India’s domestic airport lounge ecosystem, comes amid large-scale service disruptions last year.

Axis Bank Drops DreamFolks Lounge Benefit and ICICI Bank May Be Next in Line

Adding fuel to the speculation, DreamFolks has now informed Indian stock exchanges of several changes to its service agreements, suggesting a realignment of partnerships may be underway.

DreamFolks announced, “This is to inform that the Company runs various programs for Axis Bank and ICICI Bank. Certain programs of the abovementioned clients have been closed w.e.f. July 01, 2025. However, we would like to also apprise that our contracts with above clients are still valid.

While the Company is currently evaluating the exact potential impact of aforesaid, it is likely to be material in nature. Activation of new programs/ deactivation of existing programs is part of our regular business operations. Moreover, the Company is committed to take requisite actions for mitigating above impact.”

Currently, Axis Bank credit cardholders cannot access airport lounges through DreamFolks Web Access. Whether this is a temporary disruption or a permanent one remains to be seen.

Bottom Line

Whether ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, and Mastercard will move away from DreamFolks remains to be seen, but what can currently be said with certainty is that Axis Bank Credit Cardholders are unable to access domestic airport lounges through DreamFolks. This may just mark the beginning of a broader shift from the popular travel aggregator to other partners, possibly even direct collaborations with airports.

    It is really good that dream folks have been started to be eased out of their role of just a middle man – with no responsibility of theirs.
    The charges dream folks are charging the banks are the same and the lounges in say Chandigarh, Indore, Bhopal to name a few are horrible in terms of services and one approaches dreamfolks they say they cannot do anything.

    Dreamfolks have only made money at the cost of the lounge users.

    It’s good they are removed by all banks.
