Air India and SBI Card to Launch New Co-Branded Credit Card Soon
The much-awaited news is finally here! SBI Card is set to launch an all-new co-branded credit card in partnership with Air India. While rumours about this upcoming card have been circulating for quite some time, the official announcement was made on October 28, 2026.

Air India and SBI Card have partnered with Visa to develop a new co-branded credit card that will offer travel and lifestyle benefits to members of Air India’s Maharaja Club loyalty program. However, the card’s launch date, annual fee, reward rate, and detailed benefits have not yet been revealed.
Salila Pande, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, SBI Card, said, “As travel aspirations evolve and customers seek experiences that offer greater value and convenience, we see a significant opportunity to redefine the role of credit cards in their travel journeys. At SBI Card, our focus remains on developing differentiated credit card propositions that are aligned with evolving customer preferences, unique spending needs, and lifestyle aspirations. Through this strategic partnership, we aim to create a compelling travel-focussed credit card that delivers rewarding experiences to customers. This partnership marks another significant step towards delivering innovative payment solutions for customers and expanding customer choice.”
What to Expect From the Upcoming Credit Card?
The upcoming co-branded credit card aims to reward customers for everyday spending as well as their travel and lifestyle expenses. According to Air India, the partnership will combine the airline’s Maharaja Club loyalty program with SBI Card’s credit card expertise and Visa’s global payments network.
The card is expected to cater to frequent flyers and Maharaja Club members looking for a credit card that complements their travel spending. However, the exact reward structure, Maharaja Points earning rate, airport lounge access, joining benefits, and annual fee have not been revealed yet.
Bottom Line
Air India’s Maharaja Club allows members to earn and redeem Maharaja Points on eligible flights operated by Air India and Air India Express, as well as flights operated by participating Star Alliance airlines. The program also has partnerships with more than 100 brands across hospitality, retail, lifestyle and financial services, allowing members to earn Maharaja Points through travel and everyday spending.
The new co-branded credit card could further expand how members earn rewards on regular purchases, though the specific earning and redemption rules for the upcoming card are yet to be announced.
SBI Card had previously offered two co-branded credit cards in partnership with Air India. However, both cards have since been discontinued.
The upcoming Air India SBI Card credit card will combine Air India’s Maharaja Club loyalty program, SBI Card’s credit card offerings, and Visa’s payment network. While the partnership signals a new option for travel-focused credit card users, prospective applicants will need to wait for the official launch announcement to learn about its fees, reward rates, and benefits.
