In July, there will be several changes in how we use HDFC Bank credit cards, especially when using them on PayZapp, an online platform by HDFC. PayZapp can be used by both HDFC and non-HDFC Bank customers for bill payments, shopping, and more. However, loading money into the PayZapp wallet will now incur additional charges, while the wallet-to-account fee has been reduced from 2.5% to 1%. The new charges will go into effect on 1 August.

Bottom Line

While many people support the decision to add a wallet load charge to discourage those who were profiting from credit rotation, most are unhappy with these changes because now they will be charged for services that used to be free. Previously, people could easily pay their bills and recharge their phones via PayZapp without incurring any extra charges. However, starting from August 1st, that will change. In our opinion, one of the things HDFC Bank could have implemented was a minimum threshold amount, after which load charges shall be applied. Share your views in the comments below.
