New Air India Co-Branded Credit Cards – Launching Soon?

Vistara was a popular airline resulting from a collaboration between the Tata Group and Singapore Airlines. On November 12th, Air India and Vistara merged into a single entity. This merger led to the discontinuation of several Vistara co-branded credit cards. The earlier discontinuation of Air India SBI co-branded credit cards in October left Air India without any co-branded credit card options. Recently, Air India’s Chief Commercial Officer, Nipun Aggarwal, hinted that there may be an Air India co-branded credit card in the near future.

“The co-branded credit cards present a huge market opportunity. The numbers that we have today are very small, and we are working to simplify the card portfolio and come out with a new card with a much stronger value proposition,” he said.

New Air India Co-Branded Credit Cards Launching

Bottom Line

There have been many rumors surrounding the launch of new Air India co-branded credit cards. While some speculate that these cards will be launched in association with IDFC Bank, others believe they will be in partnership with Axis Bank. It remains to be seen what kind of rewards these cards will offer and which issuer will ultimately be chosen to launch them.

The new and improved Air India frequent flyer program, Maharaja Club, along with the upcoming co-branded credit cards, is expected to significantly benefit the airline.
