Kotak and HDFC IndiGo 6E Rewards Co-Branded Credit Cards Discontinued

23 September, 2025 / By Kartik Kanwar / 0 Comment

With the launch of the new IndiGo BluChip program, it was evident that the old 6E Rewards program would eventually be discontinued. The migration announced in mid-2025, along with the introduction of the new Kotak IndiGo Credit Cards, made it clear that the previous cards would soon be phased out. While it was expected that the Kotak 6E Cards would be discontinued, there had been no clarity regarding the HDFC IndiGo 6E Rewards Credit Cards.

Kotak and HDFC IndiGo 6E Rewards Co-Branded Cards Discontinued

Now, Kotak Mahindra Bank and HDFC Bank have officially announced the discontinuation of their co-branded 6E Rewards Credit Cards.

HDFC Bank Discontinues IndiGo Co-Branded Credit Cards

The bank recently announced on their website, “Dear Customers, HDFC Bank Indigo 6E Rewards Credit Card and HDFC Bank 6E Rewards XL Credit Card is discontinued. Bank is not accepting any new applications for these card variants. Existing cardholders can continue to enjoy the features & benefits of this card until the replacement card is issued by 31st Oct’25. We are currently in the process of migrating the existing customers. All the existing customers will be migrated to bank cards. You’ll soon receive the SMS and email communication from the bank about the migration.”

From November 1, 2025, the HDFC IndiGo 6E Rewards Credit Cards will be entirely discontinued. All those who have any unused 6E Rewards balance do not need to worry, as the balance shall be auto-credited to the new IndiGo BluChip program at a 1:1 ratio.

Kotak IndiGo 6E Rewards Credit Cards Discontinued

Kotak Mahindra Bank has informed customers that the 6E Rewards Co-Branded Credit Cards will be discontinued from 25th September 2025 onwards. The bank has also announced that cardholders will have the option to upgrade to the new Kotak IndiGo Credit Card offerings. While many may find the new offerings rewarding, in our opinion, it is better not to opt for these co-branded cards and instead consider dedicated air miles credit cards such as the Axis Horizon.

Bottom Line

While the HDFC and Kotak IndiGo 6E Rewards Credit Cards have been discontinued, it remains to be seen what alternatives both banks will offer customers during the migration process. Many Kotak cardholders may choose to upgrade to the new Kotak IndiGo Credit Cards, but HDFC cardholders currently have no such option, as there is no other co-branded credit card with IndiGo available.
