The lounge as a whole is quite large and offers plenty of seating for everyone. From comfortable sofas and chairs to barstools, you can pick a spot that suits you best. Those looking for privacy can easily settle into a corner and relax on the lounge chairs available. Even though this lounge sees a lot of traffic, the seating arrangements are well-maintained and kept clean.
Variety of Food Choices
We went to the lounge quite early in the morning as we had a flight to Singapore (you can also check out our review of the SATS Premier Lounge in Singapore). The food menu, to say the least, was a bit confusing. On one side, there were dosas, idlis, and rasam, and on the other, chicken sausages, with nothing much in between, which felt a little odd.
Maybe it was because we arrived during breakfast hours, but I still feel there are more Indian breakfast options that could have been included. That said, the food that was available was decent. The chicken sausages were slightly undercooked, but overall, the arrangement was fine.
While it’s true that I found the menu a bit inadequate, those who prefer healthy options wouldn’t be disappointed, from soups and salads to cornflakes, everything was available.
It is also worth mentioning that those with a sweet tooth would not be disappointed.
Beverages
One thing I’ve noticed, which I understand is more of a cost-saving measure and probably necessary, is the difference in how drinks are served. Abroad, you can simply pick up the drink you like and have it straight away, whereas in India, you usually have to ask a staff member, who will then open it and hand it over. It’s understandable, as many people might just stash cold drink cans otherwise, but it’s still an interesting observation.
Another small difference is the size of the cans; in India, they are often smaller compared to what you get outside. That said, coming back to the lounge, everything from Coke to beer was available for consumption.
Bottom Line
The Encalm Lounge, International Departures, Terminal 3, is a good place to relax before your flight. It’s easy to reach and offers a comfortable spot to spend some time. One tip I’d suggest for anyone planning to visit is to be prepared for long lines at the entrance. In our case, we didn’t have to wait since we had booked meet-and-greet services, but those entering directly had to stand in queue until the lines moved forward.
With the amount of traffic this lounge handles, the staff truly deserves appreciation, as the entire experience, from entry to food to seating, was wonderful. One of the highlights for me was the tea, which not only tasted great but was also served in a kulhad, adding a special touch.
For anyone planning to rest at the airport, and especially for those who don’t have access to Encalm Prive yet, this lounge is the perfect choice.
