End of an Era – DreamFolks Exits India’s Domestic Lounge Access Market

DreamFolks, a name synonymous with airport lounge access, has announced that it will discontinue its lounge services in India effective 16th September 2025. This marks the end of a remarkable era of airport lounge access across the country, and indeed the globe. What began with humble beginnings and grew to include partnerships with nearly every major credit card issuer has now come to an end in India.

DreamFolks announced “In furtherance to our earlier disclosure dated August 29, 2025, the Company wishes to update that the services of domestic airport lounges have been discontinued to our clients, effective today. Impact of the same is material. The other domestic services and global lounge business will continue as usual.”

This comes at a time when the company has lost partnerships with several lounge operators, including Adani Digital, Semolina Kitchens, Travel Food Services Limited, and Encalm Hospitality. These losses of contracts, with key suppliers, precede its decision to discontinue domestic lounge services.

What Does This Mean for Credit Cardholders?

• DreamFolks will no longer provide domestic airport lounge access in India. Cardholders who wish to generate lounge QR codes can continue to do so via Adani LoungeOne, though the coverage is limited to select airports.
• International lounge access with the physical DreamFolks card remains unaffected.
• For the time being, access to the railway lounges and spas is also being offered.

Bottom Line

One cannot help but feel nostalgic, even a little sad, as most of us have either held a DreamFolks card or accessed airport lounges through their network at some point. This truly marks the end of an era for airport lounge access with DreamFolks in India.

What remains to be seen now is how consumers will access lounges going forward, and whether other partners can step in to fill the gap. For instance, just yesterday, IDFC Bank announced a shift of its lounge access services from DreamFolks to EliteAssist, a subsidiary of Travel Food Services Limited.

As things stand, those wishing to access domestic airport lounges via QR codes can only do so through the Adani LoungeOne platform, though its coverage remains limited to select airports.
